"Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain. But you feel it. You've felt it your entire life. That there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is but it's there, like a splinter in your mind driving you mad." - The Matrix
There is no limit to the nonsense one may propound, if he thinks too long alone. - Jacob Viner
We all have a basic idea of what the "larger" questions are. They have been the splinters in the mind of humanity from time immemorial. Inquiry into the nature of truth, reality, knowledge, consciousness, the divine, etc. How we address the "larger" questions affects to a large degree how we choose to live our lives as individuals and as collective societies. The most fundamental thing marking humanity as a species is its drive to question its existence. I believe we questioners of life are birds of a feather. Unfortunately, though, we've thrown up so many divisions amongst ourselves. We are often prejudiced against or uninformed about beliefs other than our own. The rationlist rails against anything with a hint of the mystical, the theist condemns the atheist, the follower of guru XYZ ignores what everyone else has to say. People argue over which questions have meaning and which don't.
As you've already guessed, there are no attempts here to win any web design awards. This website is an open forum and reference for free thinkers (or potential free thinkers) who feel compelled to question. Unfortunately, those people physically around us (friends, family, co-workers, etc.) are not always the most open-minded or interested people when it comes to questioning life. Thus, the Internet!
